Stitch Therapy

Discovering me … one stitch at a time

Winter Home

Hi Blog!

It is sooooo cold out these days. It takes a lot of brain power and energy to keep everyone entertained on these long cooped-up Winter weekends.

I experimented with making Quinoa cookies.

There was a blind taste test to see if they could pick out the secret ingredient. Littlest guessed, “pepper.” Biggest guessed, “I have no idea, but did you bake any regular chocolate chip cookies?” Tom guessed, “A little weird, but I’ll still eat them.”

We drew fake animal wounds on arms with liquid eyeliner and other old makeup from my drawer  (and then posed for pictures).

I talked Littlest in having a sketching session with me, partially to force myself to draw too.

My copy of Down to Earth finally came and I read it from cover to cover. Le sigh… I want to run away from suburbia and raise chickens on a farm, except I don’t really like chickens and I suck at gardening.

  2. Fun times! Your stitching is coming along great. It’s so sweet that you’re sharing drawing with your sons! Crafting with my mom is one of my favorite things and something I will remember and cherish forever. Down to Earth just went to my Goodread to-read list! 🙂

I really must ask for that book for my birthday – I love Rhonda. I don’t want to raise chickens, but I want to go and sit with her on her verandah with a glass of lemon cordial and admire her chickens! Your family is super sweet – they were good sports about your quinoa cookies and biggest sounds just like my Nicholas – but where are the chocolate chips??? smooch to Charlie, what a love <3

  6. No- I’ll have to check it out!

I love to hear from you!
