Stitch Therapy

Discovering me … one stitch at a time

What’s new?

I feel like my blog has been so boring lately. Maybe it seems like I write about the same old things over and over. Maybe my trivial posts seem so silly when compared to the big things happening in the World. Maybe sometimes I feel like “What’s the point?”

I’m not sure if there is a point to this blog, except that writing it makes me happy, especially when everything outside seems so dark and heavy at the moment. Sigh. Deep thoughts for a Tuesday morning.

The weekend was cold. The highlights were that:

Tom surprised me with flowers for no reason.

Biggest’s school had a swap meet where the kids could rent a table and sell “stuff”. He and I spent one evening making a crapload of dumplings. He made $92 in dumpling sales and was super proud.

I finally nabbed the latest issue of CrossStitcher. By the way, did you hear that Cross Stitch Collection magazine is closing down? Sad.

We went out to dinner and my mashed potatoes looked like they were sprouting. Does anyone know what kind of sprouts those are? They were delicious.

Tom got me a “make it instead of buy it” cookbook for Christmas. It is full of cool recipes for things you can “make instead of buy.” The boys and I decided to try the recipe for pita bread. I made the dough, Littlest rolled it out,

and Biggest fried them.

They were tasty! It was a lot of effort so I don’t know if I would “actually make it instead of buy it” in the future, but it was a fun cold day activity with the kids.

What’s new with you?

The Power of Meow

  1. I LOVE this blog. I can never get over my self-criticism to write on my own, so I just look forward to yours. How much profit did you make on the dumplings? If you count your time, $92 isn’t enough for you to quit your day job, NOT that you would want to. Whenever I think of selling stuff I made I realize how hard it would be to make a profit. They look amazing by the way.

I also love your flower vase and getting unsolicited roses.

We’re flying out to Tenerife and then Lanzarote this Friday. I am excited. It’s our first 2 week vacation together in about a year. I have SO much to do before then, including packing. I cannot leave it to the last minute but somehow I push packing out as much as possible. I wish I had pre-packed bags for different occasions & different weather & different body weight.

  2. Your comment made my day! Thank you! πŸ™‚
We did not make too much profit on the dumplings, definitely not enough to quit my day job. πŸ™‚
I had to look up where Tenerife and Lanzarote are and OMG! They look so amazing!!!! That is super exciting!
I hate packing too. Definitely a procrastinator at that. It requires so much brain power. Have an AMAZING trip!! xoxoxo!

  3. I love your blog, too. And as long as it makes you happy, that’s all that matters. Your flowers are beautiful. What a sweet hubby. I bet your son was quite happy with his sales from the dumplings. You and your family are always doing fun things. I enjoy reading about your happenings. Don’t get down on yourself. You are awesome! And I am happy to read your posts whenever you post them. ((Hugs)))

  4. Awww Ginny. You are the sweetest! Hugs to you!

  5. I too enjoy reading your blog! I found you via our mutual love of cross stitch. I know that life gets in the way of stitching when you have young kids as I am in the same boat. I should probably update my blog with what is keeping me from stitching like you do. It is fun to read. Don’t ever change. πŸ™‚

  6. Thank you so much! I like checking in on your blog too!!!

I love to hear from you!
