Discovering me … one stitch at a time

Weekend Report

Hello Friends!

I hope that all of you had a great Mother’s Day! Before Biggest was born, I had a few miscarriages and it took what felt like a long time to become a Mom. Mother’s Day would sometimes be a sad day back then, so I feel especially thankful and blessed now to wake up to this:

I must’ve done something very nice in a past life to deserve these three.

So far, 44 is turning out pretty good! My birthday goal of baking a great loaf of bread finally came true on Saturday! The crazy part is that I used the same recipe that I have tried many times before unsuccessfully. Go figure.

The rain finally stopped and the weekend was sunshine-y and warm. Of course that meant we had to rollerblade (insert eye roll). It was actually more like: Littlest rollerbladed while I parked my butt on the playground, stranded because my shoes were in the car and I couldn’t bear the thought of rollerblading all the way back to get them.

Last night was our final dance class. Our teacher wanted us to pose for pictures for her Facebook page. Clearly we were her star pupils! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (Not!)

So, I’m finally making some stitching progress. Right side- here I come! Sorry for the terrible pictures.

  1. So glad that you are blessed with 2 handsome sons. It truly is a miracle to have our little blessings, isn’t it. Great dance class photo. I’m sure you guys were amazing! Your stitching is looking awesome!

Hello…..Congratulations on going to a gluten free diet! I too (because of longstanding tummy issues that were not resolving with Dr help) went on a GF diet three years ago and I must say, it took awhile for my tummy to heal, but I am ever so glad now that it has. There seems to be much more gluten free options than there was years ago and restaurants are responding as well. Best of luck on your journey!

  3. Thank you! I am hopeful that it will make a difference. I’ve been really pleased with all of the options out there so far too!!

I know I am really late to the party here – but May is always the craziest month for me. Now – I have three of your lovely posts to catch up on! You must’ve indeed have have some good karma stored up – but you also appreciate your lovely family, so that makes it all the more sweet 🙂 Happy 44th! With your dancing and roller blading – you are living the life!

PS – I also suffered a miscarriage, and I know what you mean about it being a difficult occasion to celebrate. Women don’t talk about it enough.

  6. Thank you! 🙂

I love to hear from you!
