Stitch Therapy

Discovering me … one stitch at a time

This Week

I logged on today determined to write something positive instead of grumbling about stress and sick kids and work trips. This is a challenge since those things have been consuming my life lately.

The good things are…

decent hair days

finally playing Ode to Joy perfectly on the piano

roasted beet salad

a little boy’s fever going down

photographic evidence of Charlie face planting in a chair (sometimes I feel that sleepy in meetings).

Airplane ride this week = stitch time! Stay tuned for updates.

Hello!

  1. LOL. I just had a 5 min. chill out on my desk. Why don’t all companies have a nap room? It would help productivity a lot. Are you allowed to take needles and scissors on a plane? I’ve wanted to take knitting projects but don’t think they are allowed. At the same time Swiss gives you real knives and forks to eat with, which can easily be used as a weapon. How is that being safe? I am having a horrible bad day since I asked Fabs to give me a trim and he went all Edward Scissorhands on me. I have to make a “fix this” appt. somewhere soon. Safe travels and have you picked your next big stitching project?!

  2. I don’t know if I would feel comfortable napping in front of coworkers, even in a nap room. I might snore or drool or talk in my sleep or something.

You can take scissors on the plane if they are under a certain size. Embroidery scissors are OK. I don’t take them though because I am worried that some TSA who doesn’t have all the facts will confiscate my favorite scissors, so I cut thread with a nail clipper or my weird old lady thread cutting necklace while on the plane.

I can’t believe that Fabs cuts your hair! And that you let him! It probably looks cute though!

I did pick my new project. Just gathering threads and stuff now. Can’t wait to start stitching!

    xoxo!!!

  3. Aw poor Charlie! 😀 I hope your son feels better too. On my last plane trip I was going to take my stitching but I felt like the thread would get everywhere! You must be very organized to take that with you!

  4. I keep everything in ziplock baggies. So far that technique has worked! 🙂

I love to hear from you!
