It is HOT here in Pennsylvania. Too hot to be outside, even at the pool, so we spent a lot of time indoors this weekend.
I enjoyed lounging on the couch in the air conditioning, but the boys were going stir crazy.
Since I burned out our blender making black bean brownies a few weeks ago, we ventured out to buy a new one. I wanted a Vitamix, but settled for a Ninja. Little boy voted for that one because of the cool name. We celebrated our new purchase by making mango salsa and slushies. They were a hit.
Since we were searching for cool indoor activities, we headed to the library to pick out books. We ended up with a strange collection of subjects.
Little Boy- Gorillas, Safari Animals.
Big Boy- 18 Wheelers, Formula 1 Race Cars
Me- Julia Child, Tiger Mother
Tom- The Vatican, Beer
You can see that we have very different interests.
I can’t put down my Julia Child book.

I have never been a fan of hers, but am now. It is a fascinating and easy read and makes me want to run off to France and take cooking lessons, or at the very least eat some French food.
The other good part about being stuck inside is that I got a lot of stitching time!
This is coming along.

I’ve bever worked on something with so many color changes before.

Do you all love embroidery scissors as much as I do?

They are so dainty and graceful. I feel like a proper Victorian lady when I snip away with them.

Hope you all are keeping cool and having a good start to your week!
