Discovering me … one stitch at a time

Spring Breakin’

tap… tap… tap…  Is this thing on?

Hi strangers! It has been awhile! How are you?

Spring Break has come and gone. The weather was warm and glorious. I like to take walks and pick up weird specimens to draw. This is from a “Princess Tree”. Thanks Internets for the ID!

Check out this cool branch formation. Nature is so symmetrical!

I thought I had hit the thrift store jackpot on a Q-snap frame. Too bad I didn’t read the package carefully because… hello

It is the size of a table! And made for quilts! Ugh.

Littlest sculpted this. I think the resemblance is uncanny.

Look at these cute rolls I made!

Tom tried to walk Charlie on a leash.

They didn’t make it very far.

I stitched a little. Le sigh. Same ol’ skirt.

Littlest wanted to stitch too, which made me insanely happy.

We built a volcano.

Because what else do you do when you’re bored and want to make a giant mess?

But it wasn’t all fun and games around here. We tried to instill a good work ethic in the boys by offering them money to clean up sticks in the yard.

That lasted about 20 minutes until I looked out the window and saw them doing this instead.

That about catches you up. Happy Spring!

  1. how nice he is to wash his brother 🙂

  2. Lol! Yes, he’s thoughtful that way. 😜

  3. Happy Spring! That Q-snap frame is a bit large unless you are planning on stitching a blanket! I have a set of Q-snaps if you want them. I don’t ever plan on using them. I am happy with my scroll frames. LOVE the face plant photo. It made me giggle. And trying to walk him on a leash? That is hilarious. Obviously he didn’t think so. Isn’t it the best feeling when your boys want to learn your crafts? I remember when my youngest wanted to scrapbook and I taught my oldest to crochet. Good times!

You post the most hilarious photos – life is just funny most of the time isn’t it? The photo of your boys with the sprayer is just so good. I so enjoy your updates, and one day – you’ll look back on your posts as a great reminder of this fun time.
PS – the skirt can’t last forever…….. Go you!

  5. Hi! I agree! I really struggle with stress and anxiety, and when I go back over the photos of the week it makes me realize how hilarious life really is. It’s a good reminder. Hope that all is well with you!

  6. Hi Ginny! I don’t know what I was thinking with the Qsnap. I have one and I don’t even use it! I love my wooden hoops. Just can’t seem to pass up a “deal”. I need to learn to walk away! 🙂

I LOVE when the boys want to craft. Have to pretend not to care though or else they’d probably stop doing it.

I have to go catch up on your blog!!! I’m way behind on blog reading!!!

  7. It is hard to be realistic when we think we have found a good deal. LOL I know what you mean about not trying to be excited when the kiddos want to craft. You definitely don’t want them to know you love the idea or they will hate it. Hehe We are so smart! 🙂

I love to hear from you!
