What a weekend!
Biggest went to see the new Hunger Games movie with some of his friends on Friday night and didn’t get home until after 10:30pm! This gave us a glimpse of the future teenage years and I DID NOT like it at all!
On Saturday, we took the train into the city for a Scout trip at the Franklin Institute. Did you know that a canary has a really fast heartbeat?
I love the pendulum that swings in the main staircase.
And, of course, the giant heart. Who doesn’t love the giant heart?
Afterward, we rushed home for the big soccer tournament. It was pretty exciting. Our team didn’t win, but I was super proud of the boys for playing really hard.
The best part of the weekend, though, was when we lit our first fire of the season, had a picnic dinner on the living room floor, and played Life.
Sammy snuggled in to watch.
Charlie insisted on being the banker. (He’s very good with money.)
There is just something so wonderful about a fire in the fireplace and all my peeps at home. I feel so cozy and thankful and happy in moments like these.
Later on, the fire died out, the kids were tucked in bed, and we were left with sleepy animals and our books. It was an introvert’s dream come true.
Sunday was a long cold day. Littlest and I somehow ended up at home by ourselves. He was bored so we looked up science experiments on the internet. Who knew that Borax could be so entertaining?
Scientist hard at work.
A homemade lava lamp!
In other news, Charlie showed his displeasure at wearing a coat.
And I did a little stitching on Day 4!
Have a great week!
