Stitch Therapy

Discovering me … one stitch at a time

In search of…

Hi Blog!

The other night we sat down to watch TV and I felt NAKED without a cross stitch project to work on. Seriously, I didn’t know what to do with my hands. I organized my floss boxes a little, but they were already organized. So then I pulled out this old embroidery that I had abandoned.

I quickly remembered why it was abandoned. The fabric was too thin and see-through and french knots are the devil. Back into the reject pile for you!

I’m on the search for a new project but can’t quite commit to anything yet. These things take up months and months of my life so I want to LOVE it! There are so many choices!

In the meantime, I’m going to stitch up some little projects for the boys.

If you don’t live with an elementary aged kid, you might not recognize that this is Pikachu! He is super fast and surprisingly fun to stitch. The colors come next. Any suggestions on what I should do with him? Maybe turn him into a pouch or something?

Today I am thankful for:

  1. Such an awesome quote on your old embroidery project. A Pikachu pouch would be nice to take to school for your sons! I’m always on the lookout to see what I can make for my 5 yr old niece- a lot of Disney and fairy tale themed stitches.

  2. I’m terrified of zippers for some reason, but I might try a zippered pouch. Otherwise… a bookmark! That might be easier! 🙂

  3. Glad I’m not the only one who feels like this when sitting in front of the TV!

  4. Love your Pikachu! I miss pokemon days with my boys. I was a gym leader at a local gaming store and took my boys and their friends every week. I still have my Pokemon card collection 😉

  5. I love that you have a Pokemon collection! I don’t really understand Pokemon… some of them are so strange!!! But Pikachu is pretty cute.

  6. I just can’t seem to get rid of it just yet. I have given away most of my collection of “Pokemon things”, just not the card collection. I don’t know the new pokemon, mostly the original ones, and I doubt I can even remember how to play the card game now. But it was fun at the time and my boys loved it. It was a way for me to “hang out with them”.

I love to hear from you!
