Stitch Therapy

Discovering me … one stitch at a time

Finish & Start & Summer & a Boat Trip

Hi Blog! I can’t believe that it has been so long since the last post!

Summer has been busy so far. Here’s what’s been going on…

The boys are enjoying camp; swimming and playing soccer and doing archery each day.

Littlest switched to a new TaeKwonDo school which is super intense.

We have had a lot of playdates.  Everyone is pooped by the end of the day.

We found our first red strawberry, only to have it stolen by a chipmunk or some other pest the very next day.

I got my hair cut by a Korean lady who didn’t speak much English. I told her I wanted VOLUME and she smiled and nodded and just started cutting away. Now I have bangs and a lot of layers. It’s growing on me.

This is how I usually find Tom and Coal.  Tom: reading. Coal: anywhere that Tom is.

Good Old Llama (Littlest’s favorite stuffed animal during the baby/toddler years) was rediscovered and has been seen toted around the house again. I love him.

I finally baked a good loaf of bread! (No pictures, Darn, but trust me!)

Raven Bewitched is finished! This was SO FUN! Definitely my most relaxing stitch ever.

We are leaving this Sunday for an 8 day cruise to celebrate Tom’s parent’s 50th Anniversary. I have never been on a cruise before and am nervous about 1. getting sea sick and 2. being bored.

To deal with #1, I went to Target and bought every kind of motion sickness medicine that I could get my hands on. To deal with #2, I am packing many books AND a new cross stitch project. So…

I’ve admired his patterns for awhile. I clearly have a thing for monochromatic symmetrical traditional looking pieces, so this fits the bill. Doesn’t it look like it will be such a bliss-out-relaxing-no-thinking-at-all stitch?

School’s out!

  1. wow! the wait for your next post was worth it. i want a Coal and Llama! there is nothing more relaxing and wonderful than one blissed out dog in your lap. can’t wait to see photos of your haircut. where does the cruise go? if it makes stops, i think you can discover cool places. i’ve only been on a small 30 people yoga boat and that was great, but we always had sight of land. love the new pillow stitching project, and the finished ravens! safe travels and look forward to your pics.

  2. Hi! We are just stopping in Florida and the Bahamas, so nothing terribly cool or interesting. I’m terrified! Hope all is well with you and you’re enjoying Summer so far!

  3. That sounds like a Seashell extravaganza opportunity! I am terrified of big cruise boats as well, afraid I’ll feel claustrophobic on the wide open sea/ocean, but 1,000s of people love them. I hope you do too. Summer has been very cold and now we’re in a rainy spell. It’s going by quickly.

  4. Exactly! I’m so afraid of claustrophobia in those tiny rooms, and no way to get off of the boat! Eeek! Fingers crossed for some good shelling. Cold and Rainy? Sigh…

  5. Julie

Raven Bewitched looks fantastic! I love it. I can’t wait to see your start on your new one. 🙂

I love to hear from you!
