Stitch Therapy

Discovering me … one stitch at a time

Diary of a Crazy Cat Lady

Spring has sprung here in Pennsylvania! It’s hard not to feel cheery when the snow is melting and the sun is shining.

We can actually play in the driveway again! Hooray!

In addition to the beautiful weather, this was a pretty stellar weekend. There was not just one, but THREE(!!!) cross stitch finishes! I didn’t have time to take nice photos or even iron them yet, but here they are in their fresh-off-the-hoop wrinkly glory.

Finish #1…

I LOVED LOVED LOVED working on this. This project definitely falls into the category of “stitch therapy,” because I don’t know how many mindless, meditative hours I spent on it (I started it last JULY on the cruise!). Need a relaxing project? Go here… I love Modern Folk designs. He is currently offering a free pattern that is super cute for Mother’s Day.

Finish #2

The boys got me this for my birthday last year. In a house full of boys, I need all of the Girl Power that I can get.

Finish #3

This one is from the (one & only) embroidery club meeting that I attended. Maybe I’ll make an ornament out of it but that’s something to think about on another day.

In other news…

In a continued effort to be a crazy cat lady, I discovered #catsofinstagram.

HAHA! This photo cracks me up! I’m looking at cats and Charlie is looking at me!

I am so glad that Charlie came to live with us. He entertains me to no end. Here he is squeezing himself onto a pile of napkins when there is a whole empty table to sit on.

And here he is giving me the stare down while I’m trying to relax.

I just love him so much.

  1. Congrats on 3 finishes! They are all beautiful! Love the first one and enjoyed watching you stitch on it over the months. It truly is beautiful.

  2. Thank you so much Ginny!

  3. Jenifer

Hello! I just found your blog today searching on Pinterest for embroidery. The red work is beautiful. We just lost our sweet kitty (she was 17) so it was nice to read some one being a crazy cat lady, as I had to hang that title up for a little while! Thanks for your blog.

  4. Hi Jenifer! Thanks for visiting and for your nice comment. I’m sorry to hear about your kitty. Losing a pet is such a terrible heartbreak.

  5. All of your finishes are lovely!

I love all of your Charlie pictures.

  6. may I add, the detail, depth and beauty of your stitchings really has wow factor…

  7. Thank you!

  8. Thank you very much!

I love to hear from you!
