I love table linens and have a gajillion plastic bins stuffed full of them. I tended to use them only when people came over because they have to be washed, ironed, I don’t want to ruin them, the boys are messy, blah blah blah. Not anymore! A few weeks ago, I made the executive decision to use and enjoy them daily. I don’t care if they get ruined. I like them and they make me happy. Life is too short to use paper napkins.
The boys were a little confused the first time they saw them at the table. “Mommy, why do we have TOWELS?” I told them that they were napkins and that we were going to be more green by using them. I figured that they’d be more on board with that reason than that “Mommy thinks they’re pretty.”
Yesterday was a cold, rainy, meat and potatoes kind of day. We had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I am really proud of myself because I actually planned a menu for this week and cooked a bunch of food on Sunday. I don’t know why I don’t do that more often. It makes things so much easier on a workday to be able to come home and still have a home cooked dinner on the table in half an hour. Small victories.
I didn’t stitch last night and instead cuddled with littlest boy and watched Phineas and Ferb. We played a riveting game of “Jinx” when we kept saying the same thing at the same time. Did you know that you can’t talk after you’ve been jinxed until someone says your name three times? I think that the rules have changed since I was a kid.
