Discovering me … one stitch at a time

Around here

Hi Blog.

This weekend was action packed!

Biggest took the train into the city with his friends to visit the natural history museum.

Littlest learned to whittle a branch and carve a bar of soap.

I somehow got suckered into playing in a parents vs. kids soccer game.

Tom somehow got suckered into disassembling bunk beds and redecorating kids’ rooms.

We entered a chili cook off at the fire station and lost, but ate a lot of chili and got to ride in a fire truck.

Littlest talked me into making bath bombs with him after he watched a YouTube video and carefully wrote down the recipe. They worked really well!!!

And I continued to be the slowest stitcher of all times. Her peachy skin is finally finished!

What were you up to this weekend?

A Simple Home

  1. oh you definitely did more than me!

  2. how exciting your blog is getting press! can you see traffic to your site increase right afterwards? i am so impressed with how much you all get done. can we see an “after” photo of your boys’ room? on friday night fabs and i went to a delicious indian supper. a lovely couple organizes meet up events every few months in their home for up to 8 people. we’ve met some interesting characters and the food is spectacular. it’s all vegetarian and there is no booze but it’s so tasty, i don’t miss either one. on saturday i slept till noon. i was exhausted from my budapest 2.5 day work trip. fabs and i went grocery shopping and then he met up with a friend and went to a play and dinner with his brother while i made a marble cake loaf, watched tv and took it easy. on sunday i spent all day going thru my seashell collection. we also made a new delicious chicken salad recipe and started watching Spectre. it’s not as good as other James Bond movies. i sound SO lazy compared to you! but this is good. i hope to be inspired to get more done next weekend.

  3. I haven’t noticed any huge jumps in traffic. It just always feels like such a thrill though.

It’s funny because it doesn’t really feel like we do much until I sit down to write a blog post and remember it all. I’m trying to respect the boys’ decorating choices for their room so it is so not cute anymore, but they’re getting older so I guess that’s just how it goes.

Mmmmm… I love Indian food! Is it always the same 8 people or do they change?

I’m always exhausted after work trips too. Glad that you had some time to chill out. Seashells and chicken salad and movie watching sounds perfect!!!

  5. Thanks! Akk! Already Wednesday!

  6. A very busy week indeed! Why wouldn’t anyone read your blog? It”s wonderful! And you are not the slowest stitcher ever! Your stitching is beautiful and as long as you enjoy each and every stitch, it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to complete 🙂

I love to hear from you!
